Does Russia pose any real threat to the world or is it like “Dennis The Menace” just an annoyance?

Prescott Valley Correspondent-Russia always poses some kind of threat to the world, whether real or imagined, simply because of its espionage capabilities as well as its land mass, nuclear power arsenal, and geographical location in conjunction with the Middle East, Europe and other countries that have separated from the old Soviet Union. Was President Trump correct in exiting the United States from the Paris Climate Change Agreement of 2015?

Prescott Valley, AZ Correspondent– President Trump was correct in exiting the United States from the Paris Climate Change Agreement for a number of reasons. One of the most important of which was the fact that the Accords were never submitted by the Obama administration as a treaty, which would require a two-thirds vote by the Senate for approval. Trying to adopt an international agreement such as the Accords without calling the agreement a treaty would have never passed muster with the Senate. Continue reading

Why do we worry so much about North Korea?

Owatonna, MN Correspondent-Like clockwork, the rogue nation of North Korea is rattling its broken-down saber in the direction of the United States. Also like clockwork, our government blusters and poses and warns and makes veiled threats and sends naval vessels to the Sea of Japan. The saber rattling is the same old tune: North Korea is on the verge of dropping a nuclear bomb on the United States. Continue reading

Can society ever lose its fear, distrust and apprehension about immigrants from different races, religions or ethnic groups?

Prescott Valley, AZ Correspondent-The only way that society will lose its fear, distrust and apprehension about immigrants from different races, religions or ethnic groups is when immigration laws for both legal and illegal immigrants are fully enforced and legal immigration is reduced to manageable numbers. With the recent death of Fidel Castro, is it time for the United States to seriously rethink its Cuba foreign policy and the status of Cuban exiles here in America?

Prescott Valley, AZ Correspondent-Fidel Castro was a ruthless and oppressive dictator for nearly 60 years and the Cuban people deserve a reprieve from the unimaginable suffering, poverty and denial of fundamental human rights that they have endured for over half a century.  With his passing, hope has been reignited with many Cubans exiled in America for a return to a free, democratic and prosperous Cuba. With Fidel’s brother, Raul, still living and still in charge, Cubans and Americans are skeptical about reconciliation in spite of Barack Obama’s attempts in 2015 to normalize diplomatic relations. Election 2016 Round Table Discussion: Foreign policy has steadily and dangerously regressed and eroded under the leadership of both President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. What has to occur concerning foreign policy to turn the tide in understanding the issues that America faces, whether in a Trump or Clinton administration?

Owatonna, MN Correspondent-If elected, Clinton will probably maintain the policies begun during the Obama administration and give us more of the same unsteady world leadership. She may surprise the world by veering off course from her script while Secretary of State, but the safe bet is she will not change dramatically from her leadership style on display since she was FLOTUS. With the Obama administration’s plan to yield control of the technical management of the internet to those in the global community, should Congress prevent the turnover of the internet to foreign interests and the United Nations?

Prescott Valley, AZ Correspondent- The major technology companies, which include Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo, Amazon and others are now calling for Congress to support the plan for transfer of the technical aspect of the internet to those in the global community. Many in the public, private individuals and internet based companies are wary of this plan because of numerous restrictive and invasive aspects, which likely entail the full run of the internet by rogue and authoritarian regimes that already want ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to become part of the United Nations.
