Many countries in the Middle East are in political turmoil and even civil war since the Arab Spring revolution that began in 2010. Was the Arab Spring a big political mistake?

Prescott Valley, AZ Correspondent-The Arab Spring was a major political mistake because of its ripple effect on the many countries in the region and the reluctance of America and its allies to thwart the resulting disasters. The inability of the Obama administration to respond in the appropriate manner to the Arab Spring uprising was a huge challenge that was not dealt with appropriately. The ramifications of those continued uprisings, protests and terrorist activities will be passed on to President-elect Donald Trump to sort out and some day resolve.   Continue reading

In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, is it time to refocus our immigration debate to those coming from countries with known terrorist ties?

Sheffield, Jamaica Correspondent-“Why do bad things happen to good people?” In light of the recent attack in Paris by terrorists, that question comes to the fore. Simply put, bad things happen to good people because of ‘unexpected occurrences.’  This attack could have been made in any other country, with the same devastating effect. Regardless of the location, 130 lives were claimed (according to Sky News), leaving relatives and friends behind to suffer. Since unforeseen occurrences befall us all, it’s our Government’s responsibility to refocus immigration debates to ensure an event, such as the attack in Paris, never re-surfaces. Continue reading

2014 Symposium: What is the future of Iraq? Are we going to allow Iraq to be controlled by ISIL? Will Iraq break into three countries? Will there be a civil war in Iraq?

Asheville: There is already civil war in Iraq. It is disingenuous to call these events “unexpected.” Anyone who studies the history of the Middle East with any seriousness could see that the Baathist Hussein government was the only thing preventing all-out warfare.
